i have a soft spot for cats. one rainy evening on my home, i saw an abondoned kitten in the bushes near my office building. the kitten was soo frail and tiny and was shivering from cold. my heart jus melted everytime the cat meows as if pleading for my help. if only i could take u home! i left the poor feline creature whimpering, a feeling of guilt ensued.

The Prophet Muhammad (s) was tender and kind towards cats. He appreciated cats. Muhammad’s (s) favorite cat was called Muezza. There is a well known story regarding the Prophet Muhammad (s) and Muezza.ive read somwer that if u go to some islamic countries in the balkan region, u shuldnt be surprise to see many stray cats roaming freely in the streets. they jus dont hurt their cats there.
When the call to prayers was heard, Muezza was asleep on one of the sleeves of the Prophet’s (s) robes. The Prophet (s) wanted to wear the robe to go to prayers. Rather than disturb Muezza, Muhammad (s) cut off the sleeve to leave Muezza in peace. Prophet (s) then stroked the cat three times, which, it is said, granted Muezza seven lives and the ability to land on his feet at all times..
Islam teaches Muslims to treat cats well and that the cat is a creature to be cherished and loved. Mistreating a cat is regarded as a severe sin in Islam.
